The name and design pays homage to the artist Agnes Martin. In particular the notion of beauty through repetition, and the slow discovery of detail through contemplation.

The stage was designed to resemble a giant canvas, surrounded by 40-metre-long, seven-metre-high walls on two sides.

A long, narrow enclosure much like a mini-nightclub in London's Southwark Park, with an elevated DJ booth and stage in the centre.

Using a rented demountable scaffolding system, the walls were pulled three metres off the ground, allowing the audience to flow freely into and around the stage.

Translucent plastic cladding allows the structure to peek through – illustrating the DIY ethos of Rally and exposing the guts of what the music festivals are made of.
